Guild Charter

Mission Statement

The Treasure Hunters of Britannia (Europa), Henceforth  (THB(Europa); is a Guild dedicated to achieving 3 primary directives within Ultima OnlineŠ. First, providing adventurers a place to contact and seek the services of its honest and trustworthy Treasure Guides or mercenary warriors; secondly, to be recognized as a reliable and accurate source of information related to treasure hunting, and to make this knowledge available to others whether affiliated with THB or not; and finally, to band together Treasure Hunters, so as to achieve a collective voice that can be heard loud and clear by OSI when they propose changes that impact treasure hunting.

Guild Charter

Rights of the Treasure Hunters

  • Each Treasure Hunter retains the right to set his or her own price for completing a map. This right is non-negotiable, and the THB will use neither Guild policy nor threats to revoke this right.
  • Each Treasure Hunter retains the right to refuse service to any prospective Clients for any reason, provided that they do not steal the Treasure Map, nor do they walk away in the middle of the hunt, unless dismissed by the Client(s). The refusal must be made up front.
  • The system of looting the Treasure Chest, once dug up and unlocked, is to be decided between the Treasure Guide and the Client(s). Some possible methods include:
    • Treasure Hunter loots and puts it all in a bag, and all divide it later
    • Map Owner loots, and pays the Treasure Hunter the price agreed upon
  • By contracting a Treasure Hunter, Client(s) assume all risk of injury or death inherent in completing Treasure Maps, and agree not to hold the Treasure Hunter or THB(Europa) liable for any loss or damages.
  • All details regarding the Treasure Hunt should be worked out by the Treasure Hunter and Client(s) before digging up the Treasure Chest.

Guild Structure

  • There are two main branches of THB(Europa).
  • The main, which consists entirely of Hunters, some with, some without, fighting skills, and will only accept Treasure Hunters.
  • The sub, which consists of Mercenary soldiers who can be hired to protect the Hunter and client (fees are Standard)
  • Both branches are on the same stone and will have the same THB abbreviation and be required to abide by this charter.

Code of Conduct

  • We expect our members to be honourable, and provide exactly the services they are advertising. All negotiations and details regarding the Treasure Chest, Map and mercenary aids are to be finished before decoding the Client's Map. Once the Map is decoded, the Treasure Guide is responsible for fulfilling that contract. This means:
    1. The Treasure Hunter or mercenary is not to leave the Client(s) until dismissed, barring unforeseen and unfortunate client crashes and the like.
    2. The Treasure Hunter is responsible for providing transportation for the Client(s) to the site of the Treasure Chest. This does not, however, mean that the Treasure Hunter must be able to cast Gate Travel. Clients should either be able to Recall, or have someone with them who can Gate, should the Chest be on an Island.
    3. The Treasure Hunter or Mercenary should take all reasonable measures to make sure all Client(s) leave the Treasure Chest site safely once they are finished looting the Chest, or unless dismissed before that by the Client(s).
  • After the Treasure Chest has been dug up, unlocked, and untrapped through any means necessary, the owner of the Map is to be given the first look at the contents of the aforementioned Treasure Chest, so as to prevent any accusations of premature looting on the part of the Treasure Hunter.
  • Treasure Guides should not take part in the battle against the Chest's Guardian Spawn unless it has been agreed to by the Treasure Hunter and the Client, and suitable compensation for the Treasure Hunter's skills have been arranged.
  • In the event of the death of a Client, the Treasure Hunter should if possible gather the deceased's equipment until a resurrection can be arranged.
  • Treasure Hunters and Mercenaries are expected to act professionally and courteously at all times, toward Clients and others.
  • Treasure Hunters should remember that while on a Treasure Hunt, they are representing the honour of our Guild, and act accordingly.
  • Intentionally leaving the Guardian Spawn alive and leading them away from the chest, also known as "spawn dumping," is not condoned by the THB(Europa). Treasure Hunters and their party are expected to make a reasonable effort to kill the Guardian Spawn.
  • The Treasure Hunter is responsible for removing the chest once it is empty.

Policy on Player-Killing

  • While the THB(Europa) is not in the business of dictating playing styles to others, we will not tolerate Player Killers in the Guild.
  • Nor can the Guild become involved in retaliation toward those who have killed Guild Members, as this is not our area of expertise.
  • This also applies to the Mercenary branch of THB(Europa)

Use of the Vendor Shop

  • The Guild master will, whenever possible, maintain a public house for use as a Shop and Tavern.
  • Those members, who, in the Guild master's eyes, have proven themselves worthy (through participation), may maintain a vendor inside the aforementioned Shop.
  • The Owner of said Shop makes no guarantees as to the safety of the Shop from any Player Killers, nor does he or she make any claims of truthfulness as toward the items on vendors in said Shop. As always, buyer beware.
